POSITION:   Anniversary Events Coordinator-Temp/PT, College Advancement Department

 Under the direction and supervision of the Vice President for College Advancement, the Anniversary Events Coordinator will coordinate and plan special events and activities for the College’s 50th anniversary yearlong celebration.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Prior experience in special events, event management, marketing/communications, and/or public relations highly desirable. Excellent communication skills – including writing, proof reading, and speaking; ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments; excellent interpersonal skills in person and by phone, with high professionalism; fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality;

 SPECIFIC DUTIES:

·         Event Planning and Production - plan, organize, coordinate, promote and facilitate a series of programs, events, and activities including a community-wide festival, black-tie celebration, and student events; schedules and maintain communication with vendors, speakers, participants; coordinates and monitor event timelines; assist in preparing a variety of publications, materials, and programs for events;

·         Event Administration – assist with preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports for each project; keep track of event finances including requisitions, invoicing and reporting; coordinate appointments and meetings as needed

·         Publications and Communications management – assist in coordinating publications, collaborates with SCM staff to implement information on the College’s website and social media networks; updates the anniversary; and ensure consistency of the use of the anniversary brand standards.

 

 

Work Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings/nights and weekends. 30-35 hours per week (through September 2014); up to 25 hours per week through May 2015.
