POSITION:    Business Administration Department Manager – BCAS Division –

Full-time Position # 021115  

 

STARTING SALARY:  Salary is commensurate with experience and education

 

MINIUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:         Masters degree in Business Administration, Masters in Arts in Teaching – Business Education, or a related program.  Minimum of three (3) years experience in related field.  Teaching experience in related field, or equivalent of education and experience.  PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:  Management experience teaching business and management.  Alternative learning strategies.  Ability to multitask and organization skills.  Supervisory skills.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Knowledge of instructional methologies and alternative delivery methods.  Knowledge of diverse learning styles.  Knowledge of administrative management principles and practices.  Communication skills to interact verbally and in written form with students, peers, administrators and the general public.  Ability to work independently and in groups.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and other professional organizations.  Ability to present professional appearance and implement measures to maintain own health without jeopardizing students, and co-workers.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Serves  as department manager to implement instructional, administrative and fiscal functions of the academic unit by ensuring compliance with College, State and accrediting guidelines through  the preparation and submission of necessary reports required by accreditation agencies, administration and state agencies that are necessary to maintain operation of the program;  identifies and submits department needs obtained from observation and faculty input;  monitors program enrollment;  proposes marketing and recruitment materials, prepares curriculum schedule for all of the Department’s programs, completes and submits appropriate documentation for each term, and submits general education course needs;  assists faculty with preparing and developing: FPMS,  performance evaluations, professional development proposals, and departmental goals;  and attends necessary meetings, conferences and workshops.  Resolves student issues and complaints;  prepares full-time and adjunct instructors’ course staffing assignments, coordinates advising schedules for departmental coverage;  coordinates hiring and management of adjunct faculty
  2. Assumes teaching responsibilities for assigned courses.  Prepares lectures.  Updates syllabi, course competencies, and lesson objectives.  Prepares, administers and evaluates tests.  Selects textbooks and resource materials.

3.      Teaching Performance:  Providing students with appropriate course materials (syllabus, calendar, policy statements or guidelines) adhering to course competencies in the preparation and delivery of instruction.  Being organized and prepared for classes.  Teaching and testing relevant content.
