An exciting leadership opportunity at a progressive Technical College located in the dynamic Charlotte, NC metro region. York Technical College serves a diverse population of approximately 260,000 persons in York, Lancaster, and Chester counties.
York Technical College (located in Rock Hill, SC), one of 16 colleges in the South Carolina Technical College System, is accepting applications for the position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Associate Vice President will be responsible for providing leadership in strategic planning for the coordination of instructional programs in Allied Health and Human Services. Areas of responsibility include: Dental Health Professions, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Surgical Technology, Early Childhood Development, Criminal Justice and Human Services. York Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in a variety of programs leading to associate degrees, diplomas, or certificates in technical and occupational disciplines. The Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees, which are transferable to baccalaureate programs, are also offered.
CRITERIA
§ Master’s degree required; earned doctorate desired;
§ Seven years of progressively responsible experience in postsecondary education and/or senior level administration; effective educational leadership emphasizing teaching, learning and achieving student goals; commitment to technological innovation;
§ Evidence of proven and consistently demonstrated leadership in areas of instructional management and development;
§ Sensitivity to the educational, economic and cultural needs of a diverse population;
§ Demonstrated ability to function effectively with collaborative efforts with education and clinical partners, including higher education entities, and K-12 systems and healthcare facilities; and
§ Evidence of the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with business, industry, the general public, civic and political organizations, other educational and governmental entities, and other economic development partners.
