MINIMUM STARTING SALARY:
$ 54,540 per year (Hiring Range 54,540-77,723); actual starting salary may be

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor’s
degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, and five
(5) years experience related to telecommunications and/or information
technology, including management of multi-site networks, and enterprise resource
programs. Combinations of
equivalent, training, and experience may be considered.
Master’s Degree and/or nationally recognized certifications or
designations strongly preferred. Mid-level leadership and managerial experience
highly desired.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
.
Extensive knowledge of
planning, implementing, and maintaining information and voice technology
systems. Extensive knowledge
of information resource management concepts, directions, and technological
trends to integrate the use and management of information technology
effectively.
Extensive knowledge and demonstration of
management and leadership principles, practices and trends. Ability to manage
technology needs within the College, including private enterprise at the
College, as well as coordination with the South Carolina state technology
college system. Ability
to think critically to carry out functions. Tact and resourcefulness in dealing
with confidential and sensitive issues. Ability to manage and coordinate a
variety of tasks simultaneously.
Ability to lead and direct the work of others. Ability to work independently and
in groups. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with faculty, staff, students, and business partners. Communication skills to
interact verbally and in written form with students, peers, administration, and
the general public
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1.
Provides strategic
leadership in the development, delivery, and maintenance of information
resources and services which support the mission of the College; provides
direction and expertise in information systems technology planning, network and
systems security, disaster recovery contingencies, and the strategic
implementation of such plans which result in the effective utilization of
information technology resources. Determines future needs and requirements
related to information and voice technology; integrates anticipated requirements
into strategic plans to maintain a comprehensive, flexible information delivery
infrastructure.
2.
Serves as the
College's designated official for information and voice technology management,
as liaison with other state agencies (eg: SCETV, OIR, ITPM, MMO), and with
various consortium partners in the private sector;
Collaborates with other divisions and
departments within the College to meet the technology and information service
needs in support of the College’s mission.
3.
Maintains
professional standards and a productive working environment for diverse
technical support team; leads the programming, operations, and network support
staff; assigns tasks, assists with problem resolution, and provides resources to
deliver comprehensive information and voice technology services to the College;
promotes professional development for faculty and staff in the productive use of
information and voice technologies and resources. Through a collaborative
relationship with Marketing, assigns staff to develop and maintain all internal
and external web sites of the College.
4.
Prepares and manages
equipment and operating budgets; manages procurement and delivery of all
information and voice technology resources, services, and contractual
agreements.
