POSITION: Network Manager – Information Systems Department/President Office

MINIMUM STARTING SALARY: $44,382.00 per year; ($44,382.00-63,245.00 Hiring Range) actual starting salary may be commensurate with qualifications and experience. (Band 07/Class AJ08/1001)
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management or a related field and three years of progressively responsible work experience in system design, installation, operations and network security.
DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of standard methods and techniques of data network operations; expertise in data network security, intrusion prevention and defense mechanisms; knowledge of wireless network devises and protocols; extensive knowledge of computer network design and maintenance. Ability to communicate effectively and to plan and coordinate with other technical staff. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with users, vendors and College employees. Ability to communicate effectively and make clear concise presentations. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Functions as the primary manager of the day-to-day operation of the College’s technology networks, including firewall, core router, various network application appliances, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and overall network operations.
2. Determines priorities, maintains network operations, works with staff and consultants to determine and devise solutions to network issues, reviews tasks and evaluate results
3. Evaluates new and emerging technologies for inclusion into the College’s technology infrastructure.
4. Serves on institutional committees as assigned.
5. Works with program managers to make procedural and operational recommendations and to plan future system conversions and upgrades.
6. Serves as technical and operational support for various software systems, including security/surveillance, energy management, voice, video and data systems.
7. Directs the daily operation, management and maintenance of the College’s networks and related systems
8. Performs other related duties as requested.
