POSITION:  Accounting/Fiscal Technician (Temporary Grant Position

MINIMUM STARTING SALARY: (Band 04) $24,635 - $35,106 Mid-range) Salary Commensurate with Qualifications

 

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:  Associate degree in accounting. Two (2) years accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.  Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.  The equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Knowledge of administrative, basic accounting, business and management principles and procedures.  Ability to work with budgets, grants and data analysis is needed.  Ability to work independently, with discretion, using confidential records and budget information.  Must be proficient in spreadsheet design, access, excel and Microsoft software.  Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, faculty, vendors, partners, and the general public.  Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.  Effective interpersonal skills.  Must be able to work with limited supervision, ethical, dependable, and as a great team player. 

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Individual will work closely with the Director, Development Division, Accounting and the Grant Funding Division.
  2. Works closely with the Director in monitoring all expenditures of daily operations of the center and with WIA participant/student accounts by evaluating and tracking expenses for supportive services which includes child care, transportation and stipends.  Tracks tuition and other required expenses for WIA student/participant accounts. Tracks all operating expenses.   Keys in program expenditures into database/spreadsheet format.
  3. Analyzes operating practices and procedures to protect the integrity of expenses. Works with the Accounting Division to reconcile actual expenditures. Prepares statistical and financial data for reporting purposes.
  4. Assists with administrative support for the Workforce Development Center and assists with requisitioning/purchasing.
  5. Updates training Provider Program List. Maintains updated information pertaining to programs of study costs and required items.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned to effectively carry out the department and/or college mission.
