POSITION: Welding Instructor- Industrial Engineering Technology/Welding Technology
STARTING SALARY: Actual starting salary will be commensurate with experience. (Class UG70/Band 00). Position # 116620
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree in related field or Professional Licensure in a related field. Previous teaching experience strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of alternative instructional delivery methods; Knowledge of diverse learning styles; Knowledge of principles and procedures pertaining to higher education; Knowledge of college mission, goals, and objectives;; Ability to present professional appearance and implement measures to maintain safely without jeopardizing students or co-workers; Ability to relate areas of responsibility to college goals and objectives; Ability to supervise and coordinate activities of students; Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch; possess manual dexterity; see well, either naturally or with correction; and lift, carry, and transport objects weighing up to 100 pounds; Ability to work a flexible schedule; Ability to teach day , evening, and weekend classes as needed; Ability to travel the tri-county service area.
4. College and/or other Community Service through: Promoting the College as possible. Assisting in recruitment and placement. Cooperating with and participating in projects and activities of the College and as appropriate in the community. Serving on advisory committees as requested. Promoting and supporting the continuing education program of the College. Maintaining a cooperative working relationship with College personnel.
5. Professional Development through: Seeking ways to keep current in the teaching field. Developing an annual professional development plan (with short and long-range goals) in keeping with the College’s mission and institutional goals. Participating in appropriate courses, seminars and workshops especially those that introduce new ideas or practices.
6. Instructional Management through: Maintaining required and appropriate records and files. Submitting all reports in an accurate and timely manner. Practicing effective classroom management. Prioritizing duties and use time wisely. Maintaining current files for courses. Handling student work and records in a professional manner. Performing other duties as required.
