Iona's  Story

For a number of years following graduation from Western Kentucky University, Iona Yanutola was a dental hygienist.  She and her husband, a research chemist, met at the university.  “I stayed at home with our boys when they were little.  When they were in school, I was involved with the P.T.A. and the children’s sports.”

 After the family moved to Tega Cay and the boys were older, Iona returned to school, this time to York Tech where she has majored in Office Systems Technology.  “York Tech is a place for opportunities,” she says.

 Both sons like engineering and Clemson.  In fact, the older son is a graduate of Clemson, and the younger plays basketball there.

 In addition to taking classes at York Tech, Iona works part-time for H & R Block. “Tax season is hectic,” she adds.

 Besides taking care of family, attending school, and working, she has hobbies which include learning more about the hammered dulcimer and working in the garden. She is a Master Gardener who can answer almost any question about wilting flowers, mulching, and planting conditions.
