Tabitha's Story

Tabitha Ferrell, a student from Chester, is taking courses in pursuit of an Associate in Arts degree from York Tech. After that, she plans to transfer to a four-year college with a journalism school, perhaps the University of South Carolina. Because of York Tech's University Transfer program, she will be able to transfer directly in as a junior.

So far, Ferrell has been able to take all of her classes through the Chester Center, many of them teleclasses, live audio/video interactive classes that are delivered from York Tech's main campus to other sites. The savings in both time and money for her have been significant.

"I simply don't have money for that right now," Ferrell said. "I have no doubt that distance learning and the Chester Center have made my education possible. I don't think there would have been any other way."
