Did you know you can get a head start on your college education with EXCELS?
EXCELS is an acronym for EXcellence through College Enrollment for LearnerS.
The purpose of EXCELS is to provide opportunities for qualified high school juniors and seniors to complete college-level courses while still enrolled in high school.  Students may earn dual credit (high school and college credit) when courses include both college and high school requirements.   Click here for more information

Here are some of the reasons half of the graduates
from York, Lancaster and Chester County
high schools attend York Technical College.

York Technical College has been named the number one digital-savvy college among the nation's large and urban community colleges by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and the Center for Digital Education. The award recognizes York Technical College's ability to use information technology to both enhance its learning environment and to deliver state-of-the-art campus services, such as online access to admission material, registration, and grades.

LIFE Scholarship recipients attend tuition free!

High School graduates with a 3.0 GPA who enroll in at least 12 non-remedial credits per semester are eligible for the LIFE Scholarship at York Technical College.
The SAT/ACT score requirement does NOT apply to students attending York Technical College.

South Carolina residents are eligible for Lottery Tuition Assistance.

Lottery-funded tuition assistance now pays more than half of
technical college tuition for SC residents!

University Transfer
More students are enrolled in the University Transfer Program at York Technical College than any other major.  Over 1000 students are currently taking university transfer courses that represent their freshman and sophomore years at 4-year colleges and universities across the state.
