On-Campus SAT

       Students who wish to take the SAT to qualify for Health and Human Services programs at York Technical College may take an institutionally administered SAT on the York Technical College campus.  This SAT is ONLY for those applying for one of the Health and Human Services programs which include minimum SAT scores for entry into the programs.

       Below are the HHS programs at York Technical College which
include the SAT as part of their qualification requirements for entry: 

NURSING
RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY
DENTAL HYGIENE
MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY

       Although the SAT can be one method of qualifying for the above mentioned programs, minimum admissions standards can also be met by completing all the required general education courses and the electives (if necessary) for that program, with the exception of Radiologic Technology, which requires completion of the Health Science Certificate.  For the Nursing and the Dental Hygiene programs, completion of a high school or college chemistry course is also necessary for entry.  Contact an Admissions Counselor for more information on health and Human Services program entry requirements.

       This institutional administration of the SAT is not intended for those who wish to have test scores sent to other institutions.

     Below are the dates and registration deadlines for the 2005/2006 SAT administrations. 
                                  All administrations begin at 8:45 am.
 

       Go to the Admissions Office in the Student Services Building.  If you have not already completed a York Technical College application, you MUST do so before signing up for the SAT.  Next, you will be issued an approval form to pay the Business Office your $57.00 SAT fee. THIS FEE IS NONREFUNDABLE AND CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER ADMINISTRATION DATE.  After payment, take your receipt back to the Admissions Office so you can have your name placed on the list for that sessions.  You will be issued a ticket for admission to the testing room. 

  YOU WILL NEED A PICTURE ID WITH YOU IN ORDER TO BE ADMITTED TO THE TEST.

       BRING YOUR CALCULATOR!  You may use almost any four-function, scientific, or graphing calculator on the test.  See the "Official Guide to the SAT" for a list of the calculators which are not permitted.

CALCULATORS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED AT THE TEST CENTER.

       The results of your test will be available online within three weeks after the test.  You will then need to contact the Admissions Office to see whether you qualify for entry into the Health and Human Services program.  Call the Admissions Office for additional information at (803) 327.8008 or (in SC) 1.800.922.8324.
