STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

EXEMPTION EXAMS

Students may challenge certain courses if they feel they can make a satisfactory score on a test covering the course material. The College requires a $50.00 nonrefundable testing fee for each test a student attempts. If a student passes an exemption test for a required or an elective course, the credit hours for that course will be included on his official college transcript. The letter grade of "E" assigned to an exempted course does not change the student’s grade point ratio.

5.   Have an interview with an Admissions Counselor to discuss your program and career goals.  Your counselor will also discuss your placement test scores and how they are used to help determine which levels of English, math and reading (if necessary) are most appropriate for you.  To meet with a counselor, simply go to the Admissions receptionist in the Student Services building Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Fridays between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  No appointment is necessary.  After you have reached a decision concerning the program in which you wish to enroll, your counselor will issue you a letter of acceptance and give you information about your next steps in the process of enrolling.  If you are still unsure about your choice of major at this time, your counselor will discuss the many resources in The Career Center available to help you make decisions about your future.

6.  New students need to call the START CENTER at 803.981.7236 to schedule an appointment for advising, registration, and orientation.

Returning and transfer students will need to call the appropriate division office to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor.
