Program Overview - Residential/Commercial Carpentry Certificate

This program prepares its students for a rewarding career in the carpentry trade. The courses are designed to teach students to safely operate hand and power tools. Students will also be trained to prepare work sites and will become skilled in foundation formwork, wall, floor and roof framing, and exterior trim. Students can expect an hourly wage that is well above average and the job opportunities are countless for trained carpenters in new construction, repair and remodeling. Employment statistics suggest that the outlook for trained carpenters is projected to remain excellent for years to come. The demand for the construction of larger homes, starter and second homes, as well as residential, business and industrial complexes should continue to remain promising.

Always check with your advisor to ensure the appropriateness of your course selections. (Click here to check for course availability.)
