Program Overview - Residential/Commercial Plumbing Certificate

Skilled plumbers are in demand for new construction, existing structures, and remodeling projects to install, repair, and service systems, piping, fixtures, and appliances. Plumbers work in a variety of environments: private homes, businesses, public buildings, power plants and water treatments. Students will be trained to do essential plumbing skills --- from valves and faucets to water supply and storm drains. These courses can help students to enter the trade with confidence and supply them with a basic understanding of current plumbing technology. Job openings for plumbers, pipefitters,
pipelayers, and related fields are projected to outnumber qualified workers and the majority of work in this field is new construction. Salaries for plumbers, however, will vary depending on the level of responsibility and the plumber’s area of expertise. Specialization and experience can lead to higher potential income.
