York Tech's Bobby Plair Receives Community Service Merit Award

ROCK HILLóBobby Plair Jr., a counselor with York Technical Collegeís PROMISE program, was recognized this week as one of six recipients of the Community Service Merit Award from the organizers of Rock Hillís annual Come-See-Me Festival.

In addition to his role with York Tech, Plair also fills leadership roles with the Teen Health Center and the Rock Hill Ecumenical Choir. Glen the Frog, the official mascot of Come-See-Me, made an appearance to congratulate Plair and the other winners of the award.

PROMISE, a TRIO program, offers a wide variety of free services and programs at York Technical College to help students achieve their academic, career, and personal goals, while confronting the challenges of completing a college degree.

Come-See-Me began in 1962 to encourage visitors and the community to come together to get to know each other better. It is recognized as the largest all-volunteer festival in the state and attracts thousands of visitors each spring to many locations around Rock Hill.
