ROCK HILL—York
Technical College will host SANKOFA: An African-American Museum on
Wheels on March 24 and 25. The 200-foot exhibit showcases the
heritage, legacy, and challenges of African-Americans with five
categories of collectibles spanning history, from 1860 until the
present.
The exhibit will be displayed
from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday (March 24) and 9 a.m. to noon on
Tuesday in room 113 of the Anne Springs Close Library on the York
Tech campus.
Categories include famous
African-Americans and their contributions, African-American stamps, a
pictorial overview of Kwanzaa, African-American books and
African-American inventions. Angela Jennings, curator of the exhibit,
will answer questions and present an overview of the exhibit’s history
and mission.
