Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
Recognizes York Tech Chapter
March 28, 2007
ROCK HILL—Phi Theta Kappa, the
national honor society for junior and community colleges,
recently recognized the York Technical College chapter,
Alpha Alpha Iota, for meeting Level 5 in its Five-Star
Program.
The Five-Star Program of Phi Theta Kappa International is
designed to strengthen chapters and to help the chapters
earn local, regional, and international recognition through
setting goals and meeting them. The Five-Star program
includes five levels, from Level 1 which focuses on just the
basic elements of running a chapter to Level 5 which
mandates that chapters must not only participate but must
also compete in Phi Theta Kappa programming.
Meeting Level 5 in the Five-Star Program means that the York
Tech chapter has reached a peak of excellence by meeting
higher standards of quality programming. To earn this
distinction, Alpha Alpha Iota participated in the
International Honors Study Topic and the International
Service Project and competed with other chapters for
Hallmark awards in scholarship, leadership, service, and
fellowship.
