Fall Classes to Begin at York Technical College
August 17, 2007
ROCK HILL—York Technical College will begin its first day of classes
for the fall semester on Monday, August 20. A record number of students
are expected to enroll again this fall.
For the 2006-2007 academic year,
enrollment in the college's credit programs was 6,497 students—an
increase of five percent from the previous academic year. Enrollment in
the college's continuing education division has grown to more than
9,000.
For the fall semester, full-time
students may be eligible for up to $864 in lottery-funded tuition
assistance (LTA). LTA offsets more than half of the tuition amount for
full-time, in-county students. More than 2,000 York Tech students
receive lottery-funded tuition assistance.
Last month, the college announced
its decision to not increase tuition for the 2007-2008 academic year.
Full-time tuition for York County residents will remain at $1,494
($1,656 for out-of-county students). College officials cited concerns
about students' out-of-pocket costs as a key factor in their decision.
