Five York Tech Students Awarded Chester Healthcare Foundation
Scholarships

CHESTER—Five York Technical College students were recently named
winners of $1,000 scholarships provided by the Chester Healthcare
Foundation. They are all students in one of the college's Health and Human
Services programs.
Scholarship winners were: Holly
Millwood Casey (Surgical Technology), Lisa White (Criminal Justice),
Susan C. Blackburn (Surgical Technology), Holly Hatchell Holley
(Radiologic Technology) and Melissa Williams Pate (Practical Nursing).
The Chester Healthcare Foundation
was created and evolved from the assets of the lease of the former
Chester County Hospital and Nursing Center Inc. to Health Management
Associates of Naples, Florida, by the Chester County Hospital Board. The
foundation's mission is to support programs, projects, and services of
prevention and education which enhance, improve, and promote the health
and wellness with measurable outcomes of the citizens of Chester County.
Beneficiaries of its grants must be located in Chester County and/or
provide programs and services to its residents.
In addition to the
recently-announced scholarships, the Chester Healthcare Foundation has
also made scholarships available to York Tech nursing assistant students
as well as students training for positions in restorative aide.
