Building Construction Trades Programs Credentialed by the Home Builders Institute

September 6, 2006

ROCK HILL—York Technical College's Building Construction Trades programs have been credentialed by the Home Builders Institute, the workforce development arm of the National Association of Home Builders.

York Tech offers an associate degree in Occupational Technology with a specialization in Building and Construction Trades, a diploma in Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Mechanics, and seven certificates: HVAC Installer, HVAC Service Technician, HVAC Systems Design, Building Construction Management, Residential/Commercial Carpentry, Residential/Commercial Plumbing, and Residential/Commercial Wiring.

The Home Builders Institute recognizes educational institutions and industry training programs as credentialed that meet the standards associated with its Residential Construction Academy Series. Credentialing enables those institutions and training programs to offer students access to the program’s online National Registry and Building Careers job bank. In turn, it also allows the Home Builders Institute to match the academic institution with local Home Builder Associations across the U.S. to provide industry connections where available.
