Associate Degree Nursing Program Earns Reaccreditation from NLNAC
ROCK HILL—The Board of Commissioners of the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) recently granted York Technical College’s Associate Degree Nursing program continuing accreditation.
“We are very pleased that the NLNAC reaffirmed the quality of our cooperative Associate Degree Nursing Program and granted continued accreditation,” said Sharlene Plyler, the college’s Department Chair for Nursing.
Achieving continuing accreditation by the NLNAC involves a rigorous four-step process that begins with the submission of a program self-study report. It involves an onsite visit by a team of program evaluators, followed by a peer review by a panel of evaluators appointed by the NLNAC.
The program, a
cooperative program between York Tech and USC Lancaster, will submit a follow-up report in two years and the next evaluation site visit will be scheduled for the spring of 2020.
NLNAC is a nationally-recognized accrediting organization for post-secondary and higher degree education nursing programs, ranging from practical and diploma to baccalaureate and clinical doctorates.
