ROCK HILL—
For the first time in its history, York Technical College will offer
cooking classes beginning October 4. The three-hour continuing education
classes will cover cooking basics and are designed for novice chefs.
The courses will be taught by Herb Tesh, whose grandmother taught him
the science behind cooking and how to mix ingredients to create a
wonderful meal. As a Certified Executive Chef through the American
Culinary Federation, Tesh is frequently in demand for television
appearances and cooking instruction. He has worked for many popular
branded hotel chains as food and beverage director and executive chef.
He has been involved in major cooking competitions and events including
the World Championship of BBQ.
Tesh said, "You will walk out of the classroom and into your kitchen
with new found confidence."
Each course is $45 plus a $10 materials fee and is taught from 6 - 9 pm.
Students may need to bring some of their own materials depending on the
topic.
