Basha Joins the York Technical College Commission

ROCK HILL—Paul Basha, President and Chief Executive Officer of York Electric Cooperative Inc., was recently appointed to the York Technical College Area Commission, the college's governing board.

Basha began work at York Electric Cooperative Inc. in 1989 as a planning engineer and served as manager of engineering from 1994-2003. He is a graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He also serves as the chairman of the board for Westminster Catawba Christian School and is a board member for York County Economic Development, the York County Regional Chamber, the Red Cross and Clover Community Bank.

The York Technical College Area Commission is a board of business and community leaders from within the college's service area. The members are nominated by the local legislative delegation and appointed by the governor. For 45 years, the visionary leadership of the men and women who have served as members of the York Technical College Area Commission has made the college a vital part of economic development in York, Lancaster, and Chester counties.

The other 10 Commission seats are currently held by Tony Vaughan (Chairman), Carolyn Carpenter (Vice Chairman), Ed Barnes, Jim Hardin III, Dr. Doug Marion, Bobby Meek, Tommy Myers Jr., Charles Robinson, Geri Rucker and Jeff Sigmon.
