ROCK HILL—The
South Carolina Employment Security Commission, with support from State
Senators Wes Hayes, Mick Mulvaney
and Representatives
Deborah Long, Jimmy Neal and other area legislators, will hold the
Catawba Area Job Forum in Building A (next to the library) on the campus
of York Technical College on Saturday, October 31. The Job Forum, which
runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., will offer help to residents of
Chester,
Lancaster
and
York
counties in their search for jobs and new careers.
S.C. Employment Security Commission employees will
meet individually with anyone seeking work to assess their needs. The
Catawba Area Job Forum is intended to connect jobless residents with
local employers that are hiring and to give jobseekers a chance to
receive free advice on their careers or educational and training
opportunities that may be available to them to enhance their chances of
getting a job.
Information about jobs listed through the S.C.
Employment Security Commission’s state-wide Job Link Internet job site
will be shared with job seekers who can go online or do manual job
searches on their own or with the assistance of SCESC personnel.
Job Seekers in the
Lancaster
area that desire to attend the Job Forum and have transportation
constraints are being asked to call the
United Way
at (803) 283-8923 by October 29.
