Hood Center Honored With ConventionSouth’s Annual Readers’ Choice Award
The publishers and editors of ConventionSouth magazine recently awarded The Hood Center at York Technical College its 2013 Readers’ Choice Award for quality and service.
The value in receiving this prestigious recognition is that it comes from the United States’ top meeting professionals who hold events in the South. These planners demand the highest level of customer service and quality facilities, and they have helped determine that the Hood Center at York Technical College indeed displays the commitment to professionalism, creativity and service that they require.
“ConventionSouth readers and fans voted to decide the best meeting sites in the South, and it is no surprise to us that the Hood Center has been selected to receive our annual Readers’ Choice Award,” said ConventionSouth Publisher J. Talty O’Connor.“
The Hood Center is among 150 convention and visitor bureaus (CVBs), meeting facilities and hotels located across the South to receive this year’s Readers’ Choice Award. Throughout the year, meeting professionals nominated the meeting sites they believed provided exemplary service for group events. The nominated sites are then compiled onto an online ballot where meeting professionals and fans are asked to vote for the best of the best. More than 6,500 voters participated this year in the selection process - the highest vote count ever recorded.
Since its creation in 2001, this is the first time that the Hood Center has received the award, making it an even greater honor to present it with a 2013 Readers’ Choice Award. The Hood Center will be featured as an award recipient in the December 2013 Awards Issue of ConventionSouth magazine. Hood Center Director, Steve Brennan, is proud of the work his team has put in that allows for such recognition.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the readers and editors of ConventionSouth magazine. Securing both the 2013 Readers Choice Award and the 2014 Top New or Renovated Meeting Site Award in recent weeks confirms to us that our renewed commitment to providing a top quality facility with excellent service is gaining attention,” Brennan said.
