  Financial Planning for Retirees:

  • Finally, a simple yet informative class that focuses on the pressing needs of today’s retirees.  This class takes a unique, comprehensive look at issues facing individuals at or near retirement.  It addresses essential areas such as financial products – equities and bonds, proper allocation and investment risk, life insurance, mutual funds and annuities –, estate planning, tax issues, and long term care planning.  Handouts and helpful literature will be provided and couples are welcome.  
1/12/10 - 2/9/10 Tuesday 4 pm - 6 pm $10

 Financial Decision Making for Women:

  • A class specifically designed for women who are at or near retirement with topics aimed at simplifying the complex financial world.  Topics will include understanding investment jargon, understanding investment products, proper asset allocation, understanding investment risk, estate planning, and estate tax issues.  This down-to-earth class should empower women to address these areas.  Handouts and helpful literature will be provided.

 Mutual Fund Investing:

     
  • Nearly everyone has some, if not all, of their investments in mutual funds. Whether it be in your 401(k), 403(b), IRA, or taxable account, the world of mutual funds is immense...but how should you approach them in retirement? This class is designed to help retirees understand how mutual funds can address their needs in retirement. Covering both bond and stock funds, topics will include understanding your mutual funds are right for you. Handouts and helpful illustrations will be provided. Couples are welcome.

Annuities – Myths and Misconceptions:

  • Did you know that pensions and Social Security are annuities?  There are many different kinds of annuities out there affecting nearly everyone and this class is designed to demystify this complex and cloudy world.  Covering index, fixed, and variable annuities, topics will include understanding your annuity, the pros and cons of annuity investing, annuity strategies, and how the decide what annuity is right for you.  Handouts and helpful literature will be provided and couples are welcome.
