AIR CONDITIONING DEPARTMENT
MISSION/PURPOSE
The purpose of this department is to offer accessible, relevant and high-quality education by providing a comprehensive program of systematic, competency-based instruction in the areas of Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Ventilation.
EXPECTED RESULTS/OUTCOMES
1. Continue to develop the criteria for a nationally accredited HVAC/R Technician Training Program through PAHRA (Partnership for Air-Conditioning Heating Refrigeration Accreditation). (Goal #1, Strategy #1)
· All courses in the newly approved certificates will be reviewed to ensure the required PAHRA competencies for Residential Air Conditioning and Heating will be taught in the ACR program. · Request funding for the accreditation site visit during the 2003/2004 budgeting process.
MEANS OF ASSESSMENT
1. Syllabi will be reviewed/written and approved to include the competency objectives required in the PAHRA program. Approved syllabi will be available in Shared Files. 2. Funding approval/disapproval.
