INSTITUTIONAL GOALS

 

 

 

GOAL I:

 

York Technical College will be recognized as the college of choice for residents, businesses and industry in its target population.

 

 

Strategies:

 

1.       Market the College for its intellectual and technical excellence.

2.       Increase in the community the visibility of College activities and events.                      

3.       Maintain a campus environment that is safe and consistent with a campus master plan which incorporates aesthetic development and promotes an easily navigable campus.

4.       Foster internal relations.

5.       Foster external relations.

6.       Be a community leader in economic development.

7.       Maintain enrollment reflective of state growth average for the Technical College System.

 

 

 

 

GOAL II:

 

York Technical College will strengthen and support a student-centered learning environment.

 

 

Strategies:

 

1.       Develop and deliver quality, competency-based credit and non-credit classes in a variety of formats using state-of-the-art technology.

2.       Improve retention/graduation through enhanced academic efforts and student support  services.

3.       Better address the needs of business and industry by providing modified, flexible scheduling of credit and non-credit courses.

 

 

 

 

GOAL III:

 

York Technical College will improve accessibility by placing students first in designing and delivering services.

 

 

Strategies:

 

1.       Streamline and coordinate processes for entrance and progression.

2.       Meet students’ needs by assisting with social (transportation, child care, job schedule conflict, etc.), financial and physical barriers.

3.       Adapt and coordinate services which meet the needs of students who have language barriers, who are academically underprepared, or who have under-developed learning processes.

4.       Develop, implement and maintain an academic outreach program.

 

 

 

 

GOAL IV:

 

York Technical College will demonstrate accountability through institutional effectiveness and efficiency.

 

 

Strategies:

 

1.       Develop potential institutional leadership.

2.       Implement an effective method of  reviewing and changing organizational structure and processes.

3.       Regularly evaluate and update technology.

4.       Develop additional revenue sources to support the mission of the College.

5.       Recruit and retain well-trained, competent and diverse faculty and staff.

6.       Maintain an ongoing self-assessment and resource management program.
