Alternate Faculty Evaluation Form

The York Tech Committee for the Reduction of Paperwork

proposes facilitating the annual process of faculty evaluation

by drafting the following alternate form. 

 

 

1) Are you having fun?

          Yes! I love my job and, consequently, do a great job!

          It' s not too bad.

          I'd rather be having a root canal.

 

2) Are your students having fun?

          Yes! They are engaged, learning and earnestly preparing for useful careers!

          They're all still breathing.

          They're not all still breathing.

 

3) Are you making them think?

          Yes, I strive everyday to open my student's eyes to the wonders of education and the world.

          Occasionally, I'll work a joke in.

          Yawn...

 

4) Are you meeting course competencies?

          Yes!  I am a trained professional in my field and have a passion for conveying the information my students need.

          I get most of them covered.

5) Is your instruction of courses at York Tech designed to maximize learning in your classrooms and labs?

          Always! 

          Sometimes.

          Never.

 

6) Do you expect and require students in your classes to perform on the college level in order to receive credit?

           Always! 

          Sometimes.

          Never.

 

7) Do you emphasize conceptual learning over rote memorization?

          Always! 

          Sometimes.

          Never.

 

8) Do you expect your students to solve problems in order to receive college credit?

          Always! 

          Sometimes.

          Never.

 

9) Do you require your students to behave in an adult manner in class and lab? (examples: no sleeping in class, no talking amongst each other while the instructor is addressing class, no habitual tardiness, etc)

          Always! 

          Sometimes.

          Never.

 

10) Do you set an example for your students of scholarly inquisitiveness, open mindedness, and solid work ethic?

          Always! 

          Sometimes.

          Never.
