Tech student usernames will be assigned as follows:
{initial of first
name}{lastname}{last 4 digits of Student ID number}
Passwords will be:
(drop the zero at the
beginning if born in January through September){birth date in mmddyy
format}
Note: You can find
your Student ID number on your mailed Application Thank You Letter,
Acceptance Letter, Registration Statement, or Billing Statement that
you received from York Tech. If you cannot locate your ID number on
these statements you may click here
for more detailed information, or click
here for a link that will provide your WebCT/Campus
Cruiser username.
For example,
a student named Mary Adams with 0152688 as her Student ID number and a
birth date of 09/23/80 would use the following:
Username: madams2688
Password: 92380
The software is case
sensitive, so be sure to use all lowercase letters. WebCT
also does not accept the following special characters: spaces
( ) and apostrophes ( ' ) in your user name, so please do not
include them. This program will, however, accept hyphens ( - ).
For example,
a student named Jules O'Connell-Smith with 0234561 as her Student ID
number and a birth date of 11/04/75 would use the following:
username: joconnell-smith4561
password: 110475
Very Important Note:
If you are using a computer on campus, do not click the checkbox to
save your username and password. This would breach the security of your
course! If you save your username and password, the next student who
accesses the online courses from that computer will be able to access your
courses as though he/she were you!
The York Technical College
online courses are on a secure web server as you will note by the lock
that appears in the status bar of your course.
