EN Session - Accessing State and Local Resources

Sponsored by York Technical College's Entrepreneur Network, Catawba Regional Development Corporation and the Small Business Development Center at Winthrop University, this informative event was a round-robin of round table discussions with the following participants and topics. Participants were able to choose four of the six discussions.

Jim discussed various small business loan products and types.

Lois Johnson - Small Business Administration and Larry Stevens - Small Business Development Center at Winthrop
Lois discussed ARC Loans and Larry told participants how he could help them.

Marc Shepherd - First Citizens Bank
Marc provided tips about qualifying for a small business loan through traditional banks.

Fred Crispen - Borrego Springs Bank
Fred told participants how to obtain capital from private lending organizations.

Ted Campbell - S.C. Department of Commerce
Ted provided participants with details about the multitude of resources for small businesses at the State level.

Local Chamber of Commerce representatives
Representatives provided information on chamber membership benefits for small businesses.

Participants were very pleased to learn of the variety of options available to them and how they might go about qualifying for loans, tapping into local support organizations such as the chambers, and learning more about the services provided through the S.C. Department of Commerce.
