BACKGROUND

Bowater Incorporated, Coated Paper Division of  Catawba has awarded funds to the York Technical College Foundation for academic scholarships. The scholarships are designated for qualified 

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

1. Must be a high school graduate 

2. Must complete a York Technical College Scholarship application form below

 

high school seniors in the York Technical College service area. 

Bowater’s Catawba plant has been located in the York Technical College service area since 1959. The Catawba operation produces coated paper, newsprint, and market pulp. The facility employs 1,160 workers and is a recognized leader in the community. The mill occupies an 1,800-acre site and manages 400,000 acres of woodlands.

The scholarships are offered to seniors in the 12 high schools in the York Technical College service area. Students who have excelled academically in high school may apply to the York Technical College Financial Aid Office using the form below.

Priority will be given to students going into the College Transfer Program who have excelled in school, and need financial assistance to attend the College. 

Bowater and the College have worked together on many projects from the College’s opening in 1964 to the present. The York Technical College Foundation is grateful for this partnership and the support of Bowater.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

IMPORTANT: Your application must include:

1. Completed application form. Follow the hyperlink.
2. High School Transcript and/or college transcript, if applicable.
3. Letter of recommendation from a High School instructor or employer familiar with the     technical skills of the applicant.
4. Statement of need for scholarship assistance.
5. York Technical College Admission Notice.
