This program assists select
individuals pursuing a
degree at York Technical College. The not-for-profit York Technical College Foundation is
the recipient and administrator of this professional scholarship fund.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Must a full- or part-time student at York Technical College

endowed scholarship in honor of
Mr. Andrew Carter. The endowed scholarship fund is to provide scholarships for full- or
part-time York Technical College students who have the potential to succeed, but lack the
financial resources to pay for their education.
Mr. Carter was past chairman and long time member of the York Technical College
Commission. He served on the Rock Hill Economic Development Board, the YMCA Board of
Directors and the University of South Carolina Management Center Advisory Board, and was
past treasurer of the South Carolina Association of Technical College Commissioners. Mr.
Carter assumed leadership roles in activities both related to public schools and his local
church. He pursued a profession, serving as Facilities and Environmental Engineer for
Rockwell International in York.
Mr. Carter was a dedicated family man who was committed to education throughout his life.
Though his life was cut short, his accomplishments attest that he lived it to the fullest,
leaving a proud legacy for his family and members of the community privileged to know him.
This endowment will allow many to improve their life by attending York Technical College.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

1. Completed application form.

3. Letter of recommendation from a High School instructor or employer familiar with the
technical skills of the applicant.
4. Statement of need for scholarship assistance.
