FOR ACADEMIC AND STUDENT AFFAIRS
York Technical College is aggressively seeking a highly talented professional to serve as a critical member of its executive leadership team to help further the transformation and growth of the College. This dynamic leader will support the advancement of the College's mission and commitment to student success. Located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, one of the fastest growing areas in the Southeast and in close proximity to center city Charlotte, North Carolina, York Technical College provides critical educational and training pathways that positively impact more than 340,000 citizens of York, Chester, and Lancaster counties.
Our Executive Vice President will be a strategic thinker and visionary, a prudent risk-taker, and an assertive, respectful transformational leader. The Executive Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs serves as the Chief Academic and Student Services Officer of the College providing leadership to achieve the College's mission and strategic goals by effectively ensuring the strategic planning, development, execution, and overall quality of the College's academic programs and student services. The successful candidate will possess at least a Masterís degree required; however an earned doctorate is strongly preferred and seven years of progressively responsible experience in postsecondary education and/or senior level administration is expected. We will seriously consider an equivalent combination of exceptional leadership and educational experiences. This key leader will have the ability to demonstrate effective educational leadership emphasizing teaching, learning and achieving student outcomes; commitment to technological innovation, economic development and growth for the region as well as a keen sensitivity to the educational, economic and cultural needs of a diverse population. Our Executive Vice President will have strong leadership capabilities and a proven track record in the areas of academic affairs, student services, enrollment management, continuing education, program development and sustainability, and administration. The selected candidate will have the demonstrated ability to cultivate strong working relationships and function effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including governing boards; and display evidence of the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with business, industry, the general public, civic and political organizations, other educational and governmental entities, and other economic development partners.
York Technical College, one of 16 colleges in the South Carolina Technical College System, is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. The Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees, which are transferable to baccalaureate programs, are also offered. The fall 2013 opening headcount was 5030 with an FTE enrollment of 3349. The college employs 315 full-time employees.
