The
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION program offers courses designed for
individuals wishing to work in interior decorating, floral
design, horticulture, or cake decorating. Each certificate
program is composed of a series of courses that places the
emphasis on hands-on training to prepare participants for a
rewarding career.
Interior
Decorating Certificate Program
The series of courses in this Occupational Certification Program
have been designed for students interested in the area of
Interior Decorating. Graduates are prepared to work
independently as an interior decorator or assist an interior
designer.
Students are required to attend the free orientation session and
to submit a letter of intent which includes reasons for entering
the program and personal career goals to be considered for
admission into the program. The students admitted will be
required to have access to a computer with Internet capabilities
and a calculator brought to class. Textbooks are required and
available in the York Technical College bookstore. Other
requirements include occasional field trips, material expenses,
and passing a math skills test. Registration is required for the
orientation.
