Nova’s “Einstein’s Big Idea”

Come watch the movie and answer these questions.

1)      What physical characteristics enabled these scientists to achieve their success?  What sacrifices did they make in order to learn?  Is there something special about these individuals or do they just work harder and longer?  How does that relate to your education?

2)      Some of these scientists are theoretical scientists and some are experimentalists.  Which is more important?  Which kind do you think you would be?

3)      Einstein in particular gets insight into the “secrets” of science from observing everyday things around him.  How is that part of the scientific method?  Do the others follow the scientific method?
