VISIONS: An Educational Talent Search Program

Mission Statement
The mission of Visions, an Educational Talent Search Program, is consistent with the mission of York Technical College by providing accessible
and meaningful educational support services to complement economic growth and continuing education. Educational Talent Search provides academic
support, personal development, and college and career information to encourage secondary public school students, young adults, potential first
generation college students, and the older learner to stay in school and pursue postsecondary education.

The Visions An Educational Talent Search Program (ETS) is an educational outreach program funded by the United States Department of Education under the Title IV program. York Technical College has sponsored ETS since 1990. Visions ETS provides outreach services to 950 eligible middle and high school students who reside in a three county area in the North central region of South Carolina. These counties include York, Chester, and Lancaster.

The goals of Educational Talent Search are:

• To support and assist participants by helping them realize their academic potential despite economical barriers. 

• To graduate our participants from high school.

• To enroll them into a postsecondary educational program of their choice.

•  To enroll or re-enroll any participants who have not completed their educational program.

ETS pursues its mission based on the same fundamental values as York Technical College:
