Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
Intensive and Training Services

Under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, the Workforce Development Center has a partnership with the Employment Security Commission One-Stop Workforce Centers in York, Chester, and Lancaster Counties to provide services to help the unemployed and underemployed workers find long-term employment. The Center administers the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Intensive Services and Training Program. This program offers career planning, employability skills upgrading, job seeking skills, labor market information, supportive services, training opportunities, and follow-up services for eligible WIA participants. The Center's Resource Center is open to the public for self-service activities.


Mission Statement
 

"The mission of the Workforce Development Center is to provide a central location for the citizens of Chester, Lancaster, and York counties to receive training and employment services. Along with providing intensive services and training to certified participants, the Workforce Development Center offers self-service activities for public use."
